Using TeleScript TECH in Extended Monitor Mode
This article will NOT cover the actual process of setting Windows to Extended Desktop Mode. The easiest way is just to press <Win+P> and select "Extend", or in Windows 10, use Settings/Display.
Once your monitors are in Extended Mode, in order to use TeleScript TECH's advanced dual monitor prompter settings, the internal (laptop, or computer) monitor must be set to duplicate the resolution of the external monitor (the "talent" monitor.) Modern computers do this automatically via an electronic interchange of information called EDID.
If the EDID settings are not acceptable, the, on Windows 10/11, use Settings/Display. For Windows 7, open the Control Panel, then click "Display". There are many available resources on the internet to help with changing specific settings for various display interfaces.
For TECH dual monitor display, these parameters must be the same on both monitors:
- Pixel resolution (eg. 1920x1080 or "Recommended" for your system)
- Scaling (set to 100% or "Recommended" for your system)
- Color depth (done automatically by Win10/11 - 32 bits/pixel, in Windows 7, may be set to 32 or 16 bits/pixel.)
- Refresh rate (always select 60 hz or 59.95 NTSC)
All these display parameters must be set before starting TECH.
