Up to this point, a new script was created, text was added and
formatted, and the file was saved to disk. For the final lesson
on scripts, we'll focus on using the Open Script command.
The
Open Script command, similarly to the Save As command,
opens up a dialog box that allows you to find the file to open.
Show how to
display the Open dialog
- Click on File on the program menu.
- Click on Open Script.
- The Open dialog box appears (shown below).

The
Open dialog features all of the same controls that are present
on the Save As dialog box, plus gives the added ability to re-size
its window, and optionally to open files in read-only mode.
To open a file, click the file once in the file list, then click
the
Open button -- or double-click the file.
Also, you can open several files at once.
To do so, hold down on the
CTRL key while selecting files, which will
enable you to select more than one. Once you've highlighted all the files
you want to open, click on the
Open button.
As the final step in this section, open several of the example
scripts that are included with the program -- we will be working with
them in the next section.
