Tutorial : Working with Runlists

Now you should be familiarized with scripts -- but up until now, we've dealt with a single script. That's where this section's subject comes into play: Runlists.

A runlist is the list of all opened scripts in Listec Pro. It is displayed in the program in its own window, and it can be saved on to your computer as a file.

In the previous section of the tutorial, you opened several of the example scripts. (If you didn't do so, try it out now, then come back to this section.)

Now let's see the list of scripts that are open.

Viewing the Runlist Window

The first step is bringing the runlist window into view. There are several ways of doing this, but for this tutorial, we'll use the Window menu to switch between windows.

The default name for a new runlist is "New Runlist". Find the listing in the Window menu, and click it to show the runlist window.

The default view that the runlist shows is a Windows Explorer-style "List" view. For each script in the runlist, a small icon is shown with the script's filename to the right. If the file name is too long to be fully displayed, it will end with an ellipsis (...).

The following sections step you through the basics of managing runlists:

Saving the Runlist
This section explains how to save a runlist file to disk.

Changing the Runlist
This section explains ways of modifying the runlist, including adding new scripts, re-arranging the running order, and removing scripts.

Opening a Runlist File
Lastly, this section explains how to open a saved runlist file.
