Tutorial : Modifying the Runlist
In this section, we'll modify the runlist we started in the previous
sections by adding new scripts, changing the order in which they appear,
and removing scripts from the list.
Adding a Script to the Runlist
In the previous sections, it was mentioned that the runlist is really
a list of all the script files that have been opened. So to add
another script to the runlist, use the
Open Script
command, open a script file, and it will appear at the bottom of the runlist.
Go back to the lesson on opening scripts
Try this out by opening a script file or two, and see them show up at
the end of the runlist.
Changing the Order of Scripts
Your runlist window should now look somewhat like this example:
Now, let's re-arrange it in alphabetical order. This is accomplished
by using the
Move Script commands:
Up and
Down.
Select each script by single-clicking on its icon in the runlist
window, then use the Up or Down commands to move it around in
the order.
Show how to move the script order
- Make sure the runlist window is in view by finding its name
in the Window menu and selecting it.
- Select a script to move by single-clicking its icon in the
runlist window.
- Click on Edit on the program menu.
- Click on Move Script.
- Click on Up or Down to move the script to a
previous or later location in the runlist, respectively.
After the runlist is arranged alphabetically, it will look something
like this:
Removing a Script from the Runlist
as a script is opened to add it to the runlist, a script
is removed from the runlist when you
Close it.
If a script file has been modified without being saved, the
program will ask you if you'd like to save it before closing.
Show how to close a script
- Make sure the runlist window is in view by finding its name
in the Window menu and selecting it.
- Select a script to close by single-clicking its icon in the
runlist window.
- Click on File on the program menu.
- Click on Close.
- If the script has been modified without saving, the program
asks if you'd like to do so:

- Clicking 'Yes' saves it, 'No' does not save it, and 'Cancel'
keeps the file open. Note that it may prompt you again to ask
whether or not to overwrite the file.
Try this out by closing all scripts except for the
"Listec
Tutorial script.tpw" file that we created earlier. After that,
your runlist should look very much like the below example:
